My Art exhibition in London - 8th -16th July !

Very grateful to Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan's for sponsoring an exhibition of my and my students art in London!

This exhibition showcased not only my work but my students work as well. The outcome of the workshops in terms of my students work was appreciated by the viewers and by the administration of the Bhavan's.

As I was in India, I was not physically present for my art exhibition. Thanks to Nanda ji  and Darshana for understanding my situation and still sponsoring it.

My husband supported me and worked very hard to put it up on my behalf. It wouldn't have been possible without him.

I would also like to thank my students --

Shahla, Richard, Balvinder Aunty, Harshav, Pranav, Tamaki, Lakshi and Sara.

The group was very intersting with mixed age group ranging from 9 year old to 59 years old.

Thank you all - Richard, Shala, Desmond, Harshav, Pranav and Lakshi! Will miss you!

Second set of Indian Miniature Workshop!

The second set of my Indian Minature Art classes at Bhartiya Vidya Bhavan ended successfully yesterday. The class of six included two young boys of 13 and 14, who really impressed me with their dedication and hard work. The result of the class was outstanding, with everyone impressing with their work. It seems hard to believe that this was their first foray into miniature painting. The picture below says it all – Well done everyone!

Summer Holiday!

My gorgeous naughty son keeps me well occupied now. He is 6 months now, and wants to crawl everywhere and grab bite anything in sight. There is no time to paint, however, for the first time in my life, I am not complaining about it.

I am spending my time making some gorgeous jewellery these days. Inspired by a close friend Puja, and using the skills learnt at Leeds College of Art and Design (where I did a course on Jewellery Making couple of years ago), I have made a few pieces of jewellery, and even sold them on ebay!!!

Here are some pictures of what I have created:

Earring made of Apatite, Pearl and Emerald with 92.5% Sterling Silver.

Earring made of Red Garnet and Rainbow Moonstone with 92.5% Sterling Silver

Today, was the final day of art classes for this batch of 5 students. Judging by their art work, I can say it was a success. I had wonderful time teaching them - one always ends up learning something new everytime you teach.

Here's a group photograph of my lovely students with their work!

Now, its time for vacation. Going to Hongkong and India for a months time!
